Boston-Maine Airways to serve FAA staff
Commuter airline Boston-Maine Airways, based in Portsmouth, N.H., has been
selected by the Federal Aviation Administration to provide flight service
for the agency's personnel.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The service, between the FAA's Technical Center located at the Atlantic
City, N.J. airport and Washington, D.C.'s Ronald Reagan/National Airport
will operate three days a week. The initial contract is for one year, with
extension options for another four years.
Boston-Maine recently was awarded a contract by the state of Maryland to
provide scheduled service between Baltimore/Washington International Airport
and the western Maryland communities of Hagerstown and Cumberland. That
service still awaits FAA approval.
The 2-year-old airline has a fleet of 10 Jetstream 31-passenger aircraft and
two twin turboprop freighters.
